PERSONALITY QUESTIONS

What skills does your character bring to the situation? The ability to get in and out of all sorts of trouble. Phryne is, first and foremost, possessed of both an undaunted perseverance (to the point of being what other people might call stubborn at best, and strongly enough so that she isn't easily swayed once she makes her mind to do something) and an almost boundless curiosity besides. Add in the fact that she has an inquisitive mind besides, and it's no real surprise that she should have turned solving various mysteries. Past that, she is also decently athletic - she's fully capable of climbing into a second-story window with no more assistance than what had been provided by the local terrain - and most of her escapades tend to involve a good deal of running besides, both of which she's done in shoes that might not strictly be the most suited to the situation, given her preference to dress "first and foremost for her own pleasure", which in her case usually means looking her best.

Speaking of which, she does have a good eye for fashion. It might not be something that will ever be terribly relevant in 6I given the lack of any real opportunities to acquire something fashionable, but if someone wanted to look as good as possible none the less, she'd probably be able to manage something.

More immediately relevant, she spent a good portion of WWI serving as a nurse in France; while the war has been over for nearly a decade as of her canon point, she does seem to to retain at least some of the skills from same and while 6I might not have all the amenities she'd be used to having, she's not unused to having to make do with what's available either. She's also capable of flying the planes of her era (although this is not likely to ever be particularly relevant in 6I) and is an excellent swimmer as well.

Why did you choose this specific character for 6I, and how do you picture them fitting into the game? Partly because Phryne is great and I love her a lot, but also because she's always loved a good mystery, and what is 6i if not that? If she can put her skills to use in figuring it out so much the better.

How do you imagine your character will survive in 6I, and in what ways will they contribute to the settlement, if any? 6I will be a distinct downgrade from the life of glamour that Phryne has become used to. That said, she spent her childhood being distinctly less affluent than she is now; while it'll be a downgrade, it's not one that she won't be able to get used to in time. Additionally, while there's not likely to be much call for detective work in 6I she was also a nurse in WWI, and most of those skills will be more than applicable here. (Knowing her, she will almost certainly end up doing something else besides, but what that is is harder to say.)

How will your character react to...

Being separated, possibly permanently, from loved ones and their previous life, including loss of powers, if applicable? Given that Phryne herself has spent long stretches of time isolating herself from her family at the very least (and sometimes also spending long stretches of time away from home), she'll be inclined to expect that this will be much the same at first. Eventually, however, she'll start to realize that she does miss her friends and family back home and while she isn't likely to actually say as much, the idea of being permanently separated from them won't sit at all well with her. She will, however, deal with it in the way she usually deals with things of that nature, which is to say, by shoving it firmly out of her mind and Not Thinking About It Right Now.

She'll also find that life in 6I is a lot less exciting in the specific ways that she's grown used to, back home. Apart from the ongoing mystery of why (and how) they happen to be there, there isn't really anything to be solved, and there's a lot less murder going on in general besides. Which even she won't be able to deny is a good thing overall, especially when the village is as small as it is, but it will leave her a good deal more bored than she would otherwise be. Enough so that she will probably start throwing herself into ever more things in order to find some sort of thrill in her day to day life, even if it's not really comparable to being able to really sink her teeth into a good mystery. (This will no doubt eventually involve her getting into trouble, somehow, given that she seems all but incapable of keeping herself out of it even on a good day.)

Their environment being manipulated, possibly in strange or extraordinary ways, and possibly in ways which restrain them? Nope with a side of nope. Given that Phryne is from a canon that is 100% mundane (in the sense of being not supernatural, if not necessarily the fact that murders Just Keep Happening around her) she has absolutely no experience with even so much as the idea of someone being able to manipulate the environment and to be honest, she'll like find the idea more than a little unsettling. Especially if restrain is involved - while Phryne is no stranger to, say, being handcuffed or otherwise tied up, she is equally used to being able to wiggle out of same sooner or later, and not being able to do so will chafe more than a little.

Being physically and/or mentally manipulated, such as having hallucinations or suddenly possessing special abilities they did not have before? Manipulation is a giant nope button for Phryne. Most of this is due to the fact that she has had less than pleasant experiences with it both in the past (at the hands of her ex) and more recently (at the hands of one of the first season's more major antagonists); neither of which will be comfortable things for her to be reminded of. Hallucinations are just about the most she'd be inclined to take at all well - while she might not seek out the experience she is still a (very liberal-minded) woman of the 1920s, and would have seen her share of people experiencing them during WWI besides. Anything past that, however, will have her pretty much noping straight into the stratosphere.

Finding herself suddenly in the possession of new abilities, on the other hand will be intensely interesting to her. While Phryne's canon might not have any sort of supernatural element, she's never really been one to shy away from new experiences either, regardless of what they should happen to be. Abilities that alter her perception will still be something that she finds not entirely comfortable, but by and large the idea of it, and the sheer fact that it's something that's even possible will be enough to catch her attention at the very least. (Her opinion on being subjected to abilities other people have come into the possession of, however, is going to depend a lot on what the power is, and how much attention it draws to itself. Something like the powers granted based on scrubs color will pretty much pass unnoticed, while something more direct like telekinesis will have her a lot more wary, regardless of whether or not she has the same power or something similar.)
